Manchester City yet to receive any offers for out of favour treble-winning defender

Manchester City are yet to receive any offers for defender Aymeric Laporte despite suggestions that the Spain international could leave the Etihad Stadium this summer.
The 29 year-old, who has won 11 trophies since signing from Athletic Bilbao for £57 million in 2018, has been strongly linked with an exit from Manchester City this summer, after making just 20 starts last season.
Laporte was an unused substitute in 21 matches for the Sky Blues and made just 12 Premier League appearances, as Manchester City completed a famous treble, winning the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.
The centre-back lifted an additional trophy last month, with Laporte part of the Spain squad which won the UEFA Nations League on penalties against Croatia.
Laporte struggled for minutes after missing the start of the campaign due to injury, despite starting 43 matches for Manchester City during the title-winning 2021/22 season.
The Spain defender has reportedly turned down interest from Tottenham, but is expected to leave this summer, with City currently closing in on the signing of RB Leipzig centre-back Josko Gvardiol.
City are currently in active negotiations with the Bundesliga club, having already agreed personal terms with the Croatian defender.
However, Jamie Jackson reports that neither Manchester City or Aymeric Laporte have ‘definitively’ agreed on an exit, despite the Blues pressing ahead with plans to sign another central defender.
The journalist further reports that the Blues are yet to receive any concrete offers for the 29 year-old, and want a good fee for the centre-back, should he leave this summer.
The Telegraph have previously claimed that Laporte was considering his options in search of regular minutes next season, with interest from across Europe in the player.
Fellow Premier League club Aston Villa have held talks over a deal to sign Laporte, according to 90min, with the potential for the Spaniard to be available for £40 million.
Laporte has made 179 appearances over six seasons for Manchester City, winning five Premier League titles and scoring the winning goal in the Carabao Cup Final in 2021.
