A number of Europe’s premier clubs are in a chase to secure the services of Red Bull Salzburg and Israel youth international Oscar Gloukh, according to reports.

The attacking midfielder is currently away on international duty with Israel’s under-21 set-up, starring at the ongoing European Championships where he and his teammates have reached the semi-final stage of the competition.

Throughout his four appearances so far in the competition, Gloukh has contributed two goals in performances that have played a significant role in securing Israel a place in the last-four of the tournament, where they now face England’s under-21s.

By playing England, the 19-year-old may be coming up against a number of future teammates, with Oscar Gloukh attracting interest from some of the Premier League’s most esteemed clubs including last season’s treble winners Manchester City.

Given the quality of the player, and the talents he is showcasing on the European stage at present, the Premier League are not alone in having teams show an interest in the Red Bull Salzburg wonderkid, as a new report has detailed.

According to Ed Aarons of The Guardian, Manchester City have joined Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham in a large group of clubs who have shown an interest in Israel under-21 international Oscar Gloukh.

The 19-year-old made the switch to Red Bull Salzburg from Maccabi Tel Aviv back in January for a fee understood to be €7 million, with his subsequent performances for club and country having alerted some of Europe’s biggest sides.

In addition to the aforementioned collection of top-level Premier League giants, The Guardian reports that Barcelona and Villarreal have also enquired about him from La Liga, while there is further interest from AC Milan and AS Monaco.

Unsurprisingly given the club model that Gloukh is currently a part of, RB Leipzig would reportedly like to bring him to the Bundesliga in future, although it is stated by journalist Ed Aarons that the player’s preference would be to join a club in England or Spain.

Speaking in comments relayed by The Guardian, Oscar Gloukh’s representative, Shahar Greenberg explained, “There has been so much interest in Oscar for the last few months but we will have to wait to discuss any offers with his club.”

It remains unknown as to what Manchester City’s intentions would be when it comes to the development of the 19-year-old starlet, however the most likely scenario is that they would look to loan him to another City Football Group club.

In recent seasons, the likes of Yan Couto, Jack Harrison, and Aaron Mooy have all been sent out on loans to clubs within their global portfolio, but more exciting talents can be trusted in the hands of English Championship and Premier League sides on temporary deals.

Last season alone, the likes of James McAtee, Tommy Doyle and James Trafford found themselves plying their trade in the EFL, with the latter now on the verge of a £19 million move to newly-promoted Premier League side Burnley.
