Bernardo Silva could be sold by Manchester City for a substantially lower transfer fee than the valuation set by Etihad Stadium officials last summer.

The Portugal international is once again entertaining an exit from the home of the Premier League champions, with interest from Paris Saint-Germain, as well as a lucrative proposal being placed on the table by Saudi Arabia.

Elsewhere, Manchester City have joined a number of top European clubs in making enquiries and showing an interest in a highly-rated Israel under-21 attacking midfielder, who is expected to feature against familiar faces within the England set-up on Wednesday evening.

Here is everything that happened on the three-week mark surrounding Manchester City in the 2023 summer transfer window!

Arrivals

Manchester City have told both Atletico Madrid and Rodrigo Riquelme about their desire to sign him in the summer window. City’s interest in the winger ‘endorses a season of exponential growth’. Diego Simeone’s side are ‘willing to sit down’ and negotiate the sale of almost any of their first team players, and have not refused to negotiate Riquelme’s transfer for a figure less than his €60 million clause. Manchester City have enquired about RB Salzburg and Israel under-21 attacking midfielder Oscar Gloukh (19). There is interest around Europe in the teenager, with Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham having also made enquiries. (Ed Aarons)

Departures

Negotiations between PSG and Manchester City for Bernardo Silva have ‘not really started’, although the midfielder is ‘pushing to pack up’ and already sees himself playing in Paris next season. One man is blocking everything: Pep Guardiola. The City manager is ‘doing everything’ to prevent Bernardo Silva from leaving the club. (Le Parisien)

Manchester City defender Jadel Katongo has received loan enquiries from a number of EFL clubs, while teams in France and Germany have also enquired about a permanent deal. City could allow the 18-year-old to leave on loan this summer. (Pete O’Rourke, Football Insider)
