Manchester City players react as Ilkay Gundogan joins Barcelona on free transfer

Ilkay Gundogan has completed his much-anticipated transfer to Barcelona after a decorated seven-year stint at the Etihad Stadium.
The 32-year-old won five Premier League titles, two FA Cups and led Pep Guardiola’s side to their maiden Champions League honour during his time in the north-west.
A reluctance from the European champions to hand the German a two-year contract and the chance to take on a new challenge in Spain has seen Gundogan swap Manchester for Barcelona.
The Catalan giants confirmed their capture of the experienced midfielder on Monday morning as tributes poured in for Manchester City’s treble-winning captain at the end of a sensational innings at the Etihad Stadium.
Here’s how the Manchester City first-team squad have reacted to Gundogan’s departure:
Kevin De Bruyne
Nathan Ake
Phil Foden

Kyle Walker

Rico Lewis

Kalvin Phillips
