Saudi Pro League club targeting Manchester City midfielder with ‘eye-watering’ contract offer amid PSG interest

Manchester City star Bernardo Silva is subject to a major offer from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, as Pep Guardiola prepares to potentially lose another key midfielder.
The treble-winners have already lost club captain Ilkay Gundogan, after the 32 year-old chose to sign for Barcelona on a free transfer as opposed to agreeing a new deal at the Etihad Stadium, ending a seven-year spell with Manchester City.
Gundogan, who was Pep Guardiola’s first signing at City, could be one of two major midfield departures this summer, with the future of Bernardo Silva once again uncertain, with Paris Saint-Germain reigniting their interest in the Portugal international.
Bernardo Silva is also subject to major interest from Saudi Arabia, as the 28 year-old considers his options, despite being contracted at the Etihad Stadium until 2025.
Barcelona and PSG were both linked with the City star last year, however Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal could throw a sensational spanner in the works, as Jack Gaughan reports that the Middle Eastern club are ‘pushing hard’ to try and sign the midfielder.
The 28 year-old is yet to make decision on his future, however Al Hilal are trying to convince the Portuguese international to move to the Saudi Pro League with wages north of £75 million a year, according to the Daily Mail.
PSG also remain interested in signing Silva, with claims that the Manchester City player is one of the Parisians top summer targets, as the French champions seek a replacement for Lionel Messi, who has agreed a deal with MLS side Inter Miami.
City are keen for the ‘matter to be resolved soon’ according to Gaughan, with Silva still wanting to move closer to home in Lisbon, Portugal.
Silva has made 306 appearances for Manchester City since signing from AS Monaco in 2017.
The 28 year-old isn’t the first member of Guardiola’s squad to be targeted by Saudi Arabia, with Riyad Mahrez also wanted by several clubs in the league.
Gundogan was also subject to an offer from Saudi Arabia, while Joao Cancelo, who is expected to leave City this summer, also has suitors in the Middle Eastern league.
