RB Leipzig amongst Bundesliga clubs pursuing move for Manchester City forward
Cole Palmer is subject to transfer interest from a number of Bundesliga clubs including RB Leipzig, as Manchester City prepare to sanction a transfer for the England U21 international.
The 21 year-old made seven starts for Manchester City across all competitions last season and was directly involved in just two goals, despite starting Premier League matches against both Chelsea and Brentford at the end of the campaign.
Palmer netted against Burnley in the Emirates FA Cup quarter-finals at the Etihad Stadium, although the forward has failed to really kickstart his Manchester City career after a surprise Premier League debut against Everton in November 2021.
The England U21 international featured in 25 matches for Pep Guardiola during the treble winning campaign and will be apart of the Three Lions squad at the upcoming U21 European Championships this summer.
Palmer will be hoping to impress potential suitors at the tournament, after Sam Lee revealed that Manchester City are prepared to allow the 21 year-old to leave on loan this summer.
Despite rejecting loan offers during the January transfer window, Manchester City will green light a move away for Palmer, though The Athletic report that the Blues are ‘not keen’ on a transfer involving an option to buy clause.
Several Bundesliga clubs are mooted to be circling for Palmer, with Sam Lee reporting that RB Leipzig are amongst the German clubs interested in signing the young City forward.
Palmer is ‘attracting interest’ from top-half Bundesliga clubs, with RB Leipzig renewing their interest after previous failed attempts to sign the winger.
The German side tried to sign Palmer last summer and again in January.
RB Leipzig finished third and as a result will have Champions League football next season, with Palmer himself claimed to be ‘open’ to a move to the Bundesliga.
