Bernardo Silva’s Manchester City departure unsurprisingly confirmed
After the disappointing 2024/25 Premier League campaign for Manchester City, manager Pep Guardiola knew the time was finally right to start to rebuild his first team options, and fans enjoyed an interesting summer of both incomings and outgoings.
With plenty of well-known faces departing, and still plenty of others to move on as contracts begin to expire, the Etihad Stadium faithful have enjoyed a good season of transition.
New faces have adjusted well to the rigours of the domestic English top-flight, and as May approaches, the club are still in with a shout of another title to add to the recent League Cup that was secured with victory over Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
Fans dabbling with online gaming may search out 200 free spins validity details to help them succeed, but with new players having bedded in quickly and hammering Arne Slot’s Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals, the transition could end with a double, or even a treble.
There are plenty of highlights to take and it is safe to assume that with 12 months under the belts of a number of new players, they will only improve further in time. But fans will be disappointed to learn that all of the transfer window speculation rumour mill claims about Bernardo Silva have come to pass.
The 31-year-old, 107-capped Portuguese international is out of contract at the end of this campaign and with plenty of talk that he would finally move on for pastures new, that decision has now been officially confirmed.
Having joined from Monaco at the start of the 2017/18 campaign, Bernardo Silva has won plenty of trophies and personal accolades as he made his journey towards breaking the 400 first-team appearance mark.
Few players can boast six Premier League trophies, the Champions league and numerous domestic Cups in just nine years after all.
With the news and his departure confirmed, naturally the questions that remain will simply focus on what his next destination will be as amidst all the speculation that has done the rounds, Juventus and Barcelona continue to be top of the pile.
Whilst assistant manager, Pep Lijnders, went to pains to state that a player like Bernardo Silva is simply irreplaceable on a ‘one to one’ basis because of what he offered the team, fans will obviously have their eye on who will do just that next season.
Has Pep Guardiola already brought him in-house, does he have an eye on a youth prospect, or is it an additional transfer that could make the summer even more interesting for fans?
We will soon find out.
