Bernardo Silva to depart with Manchester City ace set for Spain
Manchester City fans are at the true business end of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign right now, and trophy hopes and another top flight title remains a strong – albeit not guaranteed – opportunity.
As the Etihad Stadium faithful mull over the potential options and results, not least will manager Mikel Arteta’s side bottle the pressure once again – especially given City’s recent League Cup success – will Crystal Palace ever be re-arranged, and could hindsight show the remaining Arsenal league clash is the title decider. But there is also the growing distraction of summer transfer window rumour mill speculation.
Just like the roulette wheel at the online casino rocketplay35 com features red and black, the press have been full of Rodri to Real Madrid rumours again, and whilst most in the wider football world would put speculation in the bin for now, whatever the second stage of Pep Guardiola’s first team rebuild may look like over the next few months, it seems Bernardo Silva will definitely not be a part of it
Speculation about the future of the 31-year-old Portuguese international midfielder has been rife, but some outlets have claimed they have confirmation of a departure. Naturally, news should always be treated with a healthy dose of cynicism, but he is out of contract at the end of the season and it has long seemed that a new extension would not be agreed.
His lengthy, nine-year spell, at the club has been nothing but a success for all involved and he has long been linked with a potential Spanish move and Barcelona, so it feels like this summer could sadly, really, be the moment that he moves on.
Few in the Manchester City fanbase would grumble in fairness given the service that he has given to the club since his 2017 arrival from AS Monaco, and if he does now depart for a new challenge, he goes with a host of honours and winners medals and would undoubtedly be very warmly welcomed back whenever.
For fans, it will simply be an interesting game trying to work out what potential future he chooses to take.
He is without doubt capable of remaining at the top level of the game within the major European leagues for a good number of years yet, but a player of his quality – and with his profile – would be a huge draw for any of the bigger Major League Soccer sides, and we have already seen the kind of sums that the Saudi Arabian Pro League have thrown around in a effort to grow the profile of their own domestic game.
A European destination is by far the most likely and whilst you would imagine interest from the likes of Serie A’s major sides, the safe bet would have to be Spain and La Liga given Barcelona’s long stated interest.
For now, we will have to wait and see.
