Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has joked that four players are responsible for his managerial success across England, Spain and Germany.

The Catalan, who could guide Manchester City to become the first team since Manchester United in 1999 to win the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup in the same season, has won 32 trophies as a manager to date.

Guardiola became a five-time Premier League winner in May, as Manchester City overcame a valiant Arsenal to claim their third consecutive Premier League trophy and fifth title in six years.

The 52 year-old has won 12 trophies as Manchester City manager since moving to the Etihad Stadium in 2016 from Bayern Munich.

Guardiola extended his stay in East Manchester for an additional two years in November, signing a deal until 2025.

As well as incredible success in England, Guardiola won two Champions League’s and La Liga on three occasions with Barcelona.

The Manchester City manager also won a hat-trick of Bundesliga titles with Bayern Munich and lead the German heavyweights to the FIFA Club World Cup.

After the FA Cup Final against Manchester United on Saturday, Manchester City and Pep Guardiola are looking to win the Champions League when the Blues meet Inter Milan in Istanbul on Saturday 10th June.

City suffered defeat to Chelsea in the 2021 Champions League Final and are looking to win the European competition for the first time in the club’s history.

Prior to the upcoming clashes against Manchester United and Inter Milan, Pep Guardiola has joked that four individuals are the reason for his managerial success.

“Do you know the secret of my success as a manager? Barcelona, Bayern, Man City. This is the success of Pep. Messi, Lewandowski, Haaland, Agüero.

“I love my mum and grandfather but with him I don’t win the Champions League.”

Over seven seasons, Guardiola has taken charge of 411 matches as Manchester City manager, winning 298 matches and seeing his side score over 1,000 goals.
