Manchester City defender Kyle Walker looks set to remain at the Etihad Stadium next season despite interest from AC Milan in Italy.

The right-back, who joined Manchester City from Tottenham in 2017, is out of contract at the Etihad Stadium in 2024 and currently there are no plans to extend the defenders stay in East Manchester.

Walker has won 12 trophies, including five Premier League titles with Manchester City, and quickly became an integral member of Pep Guardiola’s squad upon joining from North London.

The 33 year-old has made 252 appearances for Manchester City and has played in 37 games for the Premier League champions so far this season.

Walker was also part of Gareth Southgate’s England squad at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, notably having a sensational performance up against French superstar Kylian Mbappé in the quarter-finals.

Potential contract extension talks with Walker were reportedly shelved earlier this year after an incident involving the defender at a bar in Cheshire, where footage emerged of the 33 year-old allegedly exposing himself.

The England international has also been subject to transfer interest from AC Milan in Serie A, however according to The Sun, Walker is set to turndown interest from the Italian club this summer.

The outlet report that Walker favours a potential return to his boyhood club Sheffield United following the expiration of his contract at the Etihad Stadium, as any return to Bramall Lane would likely require the 33 year-old to be a free agent.

Sheffield United secured promotion back to the Premier League last month, returning to the top-flight alongside Burnley and Luton Town.

Speaking in March about one day returning to his boyhood club in Yorkshire, Walker said: “I wouldn’t mind.”
