Manchester City players have taken to social media to celebrate being crowned Premier League champions for a third successive season.

Pep Guardiola’s side have clinched the Premier League title for the fifth time in six years, following Arsenal’s loss to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday evening.

Taiwo Awoniyi’s first half strike proved the difference, as Steve Cooper’s side secured their top-flight status with a 1-0 victory over the Gunners.

City had the opportunity to seal the Premier League title themselves at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon, as the Sky Blues face Chelsea in their final home match of the campaign.

Manchester City will lift the Premier League trophy at full-time on Sunday, while Frank Lampard’s side could give the seven-time league winners a guard of honour prior to kick-off.

Following Sunday’s match against Chelsea and the title celebrations, Manchester City conclude their Premier League campaign with away matches against Brighton and Brentford.

The title triumph is the first of potentially three trophies for City this season, as the Sky Blues bid to win a potential treble, with a Champions League Final and FA Cup Final next month.

An emphatic 4-1 win over Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium last month helped propel Pep Guardiola’s side to their latest title, as the Blues won 11 successive league matches.

After clinching a third successive Premier League title on Saturday evening, Manchester City players took to social media to react:
