Manchester City take on Everton in a crunch Premier League meeting sandwiched between two mammoth ties in the UEFA Champions League this month.

As May enters a potentially decisive four days for City and their hopes of winning a historic treble of silverware, Sean Dyche’s Everton pose the first of two threats to the Premier League and Champions League titles.

Manchester City travel to Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon, as the Blues take on an Everton side in full confidence following their outstanding 1-5 win on the road against Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this week.

While the rest of Manchester City’s squad is at full strength, doubts continue to loom over the fitness of Nathan Ake after the Dutchman sustained a calf problem during last weekend’s 2-1 win over Leeds United.

That problem forced the 28 year-old to sit out of proceedings at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday night, and not be selected in Pep Guardiola’s travelling contingent for the jaunt in Spain.

As for Everton, it is more of the same concerning the Toffees ahead of the visit of Manchester City, with no fresh injury doubts to their squad coming into the weekend’s crunch clash at Goodison Park.

Ahead of a potentially decisive afternoon in the Premier League, here is all the very latest fitness and injury news from both camps!

Everton

Manager Sean Dyche clarified during his pre-match press conference that he and his staff have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the clash with Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

It was confirmed that defensive mainstay Seamus Coleman had undergone surgery on a knee injury, while both Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Yerry Mina had trained well coming into the meeting with Pep Guardiola’s players.

Manchester City will be well aware of the talents of Andros Townsend, given his exemplary goal at the Etihad Stadium in recent seasons. Dyche was able to deliver positive news, revealing that the veteran had completed his first group training session since rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in March last year.

“He’s just started with us again,” Dyche said on Townsend. “He’s early on in the process of getting truly fit but he’s started with us again and it’s great for him because it’s been a long haul.”

Manchester City

Pep Guardiola has the luxury of having a majority-fit squad to pick from this weekend, with the expected exception of Nathan Ake – who continues to recover from a muscular problem sustained last weekend.

On the subject of the 28 year-old, the Catalan head coach was able to deliver some element of positivity, stating that things were looking “much better” for Manchester City’s mainstay left-back option.

Speaking on Friday afternoon, Pep Guardiola said, “I think he’s much better but I don’t know. Today we finally had a day off. Now we have training in a few hours and we will see.”
