Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola headed into the October international pause with his side in fifth place in the Premier League table having picked up four wins and a draw from the opening seven matches, and with a positive nine goal difference to their name, summer signings are beginning to gel and settle.

City made a number of changes during the off season as Guardiola rebuilt and refreshed first-team options and whilst there is a long way to go as newbies continue adjusting, settling in, and adapting to what is wanted from them on the pitch, the signs are very promising – and with plenty of football left to play and points to fight for – being only three points off top spot.

Whilst some fans will be looking at betting odds for games ahead, others will continue dabbling with the growing casino gaming markets available and many will look for free $100 pokies no deposit sign up bonus Australia particularly if they support from down under.

However, as everyone in the Manchester City faithful knows, off-pitch issues continue to loom large over our heads when it comes to the Premier League’s 115 charges related to alleged financial rule breaches.

Despite all the legal wrangling and the back and forth we have seen, quite why it has already taken this long to reach a culmination, a decision or write that decision up, is probably beyond fans of all colours.

We might now have finally reached the end of the road as senior Premier League officials are now being reported as saying that the final verdict should now be expected before the end of this month.

A 12-week hearing held back in September 2024 should have found a conclusion long before now, in the thoughts of some, and fans will continue to debate how much of an impact this had on performances last season. Whilst there were plenty of other issues City were struggling with such as injuries, players are only human and the uncertainty cannot have helped.

City have long maintained innocence on all accusations levied and a prior statement from the club welcomed the independent commission involvement, allowing them to put ‘this matter… to rest once and for all’ given all of the media reporting, punditry and commentary they had been subject to over the years.

Whatever ultimately happens, the vast majority of City fans will simply be pleased to finally see the back of an irritating issue, but the vast majority of supporters will also be expecting to be found innocent of most charges.

Although, undoubtedly there will be a couple of minor legal slaps sent City’s way so the Premier League can save some face and justify the money they have not only spent on this case, but also those involving Everton, Nottingham Forest and Leicester City.

Always been a bit of a stupid argument, has it not?
