Manchester City are in negotiations over the signing of Melbourne City and Australia international left-back Jordan Bos, according to a report.

Serious interest in the rising defender comes amid a hugely impressive season in Australia A-League, where Bos has so far registered a total of 24 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal and providing five assists.

Jordan Bos’ impressive campaign culminated in a call-up to the Australia senior squad during the most recent international break, earning his first cap for the side in a 1-2 defeat to Ecuador at the Marvel Stadium.

Amid Manchester City’s ongoing struggles to find a natural first-team left-back, and despite the success of Nathan Ake in the position this season, the Premier League champions are now looking to capitalise on Jordan Bos’ campaign with a transfer.

That is according to the information of AussieScout, who claims that Manchester City are currently in negotiations with Melbourne City to sign Australia international left-back, Jordan Bos.

It is further claimed that the player’s agent has been in Manchester this week in an attempt to close a deal with the Premier League champions.

However, for those who may be excited at the prospect of Bos starring in Pep Guardiola’s first-team squad in the near future, it is suggested that should a deal be completed then the 20 year-old will likely be loaned out.

Given Manchester City’s association with Melbourne City, it can be expected that negotiations between all parties involved will progress smoothly and without any issues for the transfer of Jordan Bos.

Both clubs are part of the City Football Group, who often work in conjunction to develop some of the globe’s most promising rising stars with the end goal being to sell on for a healthy transfer fee, or even to feed into Pep Guardiola’s first-team squad at the Etihad Stadium.

Oleksandr Zinchenko has perhaps been the most successful signing into the City Football Group, with the Ukrainian international initially bought with a view to slowly developing into a squad player, but instead playing a crucial role in the recent success at Manchester City.

The now 26 year-old now stars for Mikel Arteta’s Premier League title-challenging Arsenal, making the switch from the Etihad to the Emirates in the summer of 2022 for a transfer fee understood to be in the region of £32 million.
