City’s busy summer continues with expected Celtic departure
With Manchester City and manager Pep Guardiola now only a few weeks away from the big kick-off for the 2025/26 domestic Premier League campaign – where they make the trip to Molineux to face Wolverhampton Wanderers – City fans themselves have already enjoyed quite the summer.
There has been plenty of football on offer already and City’s pre-season build-up was extended over the summer given their participation at the newly-expanded FIFA Club World Cup tournament.
Of course, allied to that was the fact that the club took full of advantage of the early and special transfer window, and for fans who like a flutter on the market odds, that was a perfect bonus for the off-season.
Many fans took to online gaming sites with growing casino offerings like https://pl.polskiesloty.com/100-zl-bez-depozytu/ as they search for their own entertainment whilst they wait for the new season to begin.
Having seen the arrivals of Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki, and Tijjani Reijnders in outfield positions, knowing the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker had departed, City also added Sverre Nypan to their ranks, and re-signed former Academy graduate James Trafford.
Many believed that the educated guess as a result would be that the club’s business would be far from finished, particularly when you look at those the club would like to move on as Pep Guardiola continues his mini rebuild.
With the transfer window speculation rumour mill as full as ever with links and claims about certain players and our potential interest in adding them to the ranks, City have also continued their youth focus this summer.
City have already seen some of their highly-rated young talents move on for loan spells that will hopefully significantly bolster their experience and better serve their continued development. And after plenty of rumours, it now seems that young centre half Jahmai Simpson-Pusey will be the next to take that route.
The 19-year-old England youth international has steadily made his way through City’s Academy set up over the last decade and Pep Guardiola called on him a handful of times last season when injuries significantly hit his options in the first half of the campaign.
The teenager made debuts across all competitions and ended the campaign with six appearances to his name, naturally leading to interest in his services this summer, and it is now being reported that Scottish giants Celtic are now on the verge of securing his signature.
Manager Brendan Rodgers was long considered to be in pole position and it seems that a straight loan deal until the end of the season has now been agreed, but it will not contain either an obligation or optional buy clause as City still see a future for him.
This deal remains speculation at this stage, albeit very viable given the rumours that we have seen so far, as neither Celtic nor Manchester City have officially commented on whether or not a move has yet been agreed.
However, you get the feeling that at some point in the next very immediate future this will be made official as Parkhead would be a great learning curve for him.
