Confirmed Match Officials: Manchester City vs Leicester City (Premier League)
Darren England will take charge of Manchester City’s clash with Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, the Premier League have announced.
Manchester City can extend their winning streak to 10 matches and move within three points of league leaders Arsenal this weekend when they return to Premier League action against Leicester City.
Fresh from an emphatic 3-0 first-leg win over Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday, the Blues face Leicester City this weekend, with the Foxes having recently appointed Dean Smith as manager.
Smith has been appointed at the King Power Stadium until the end of the season as Leicester fight for Premier League survival, currently finding themselves two points away from safety.
City beat Leicester 1-0 in October without striker Erling Haaland, who netted his 45th goal of the campaign during Tuesday’s incredible win over Bayern Munich.
The 22 year-old scored the Blues’ third goal in the 76th minute, after Rodri had given City the lead in the first half with a stunning strike and Bernardo Silva doubled the scoreline in the 70th minute with a header.
Pep Guardiola’s side travel to Germany for the second-leg next week but first have the opportunity to close the gap to league leaders Arsenal, who dropped points against Liverpool at Anfield last weekend.
Ahead of Saturday’s clash at the Etihad Stadium, the Premier League have announced the Match Officials for the fixture.
