OFFICIAL: Manchester City have confirmed the appointments of Pep Lijnders and James French as assistant and set-piece coaches respectively.
Director of football Hugo Viana said: “We’re all delighted that Pepijn (Lijnders) and James (French) have joined our senior coaching set-up. Pepijn and James have amassed huge experience working in their individual roles over the past few years.
“Their talent, application, work ethic and all-round commitment are totally aligned with the values that underpin how Pep (Guardiola) wants football to be played.

Tottenham and Everton hold genuine interest in signing Jack Grealish, according to talkSPORT’s Ben Jacobs. However, Everton will only make an approach if Grealish shows a willingness to join on loan and Manchester City cover some of his wages. City are hoping for at least £50 million for a permanent deal.
At this stage, Aston Villa are not an actively chasing a reunion with their former club captain, while Newcastle United are unlikely to make a move for the Englishman.
Grealish also has interest from Saudi Arabian side Al Qadsiah, but wants to stay in Europe where AC Milan, Napoli, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan and Bayer Leverkusen are all potential destinations.

Pep Guardiola and the Manchester City board still love Jack Grealish, as much for his attitude and popularity in the squad, as his quality. But there is a consensus this is the right time to move on, and Grealish agrees, focussing on his future and finding a new club.
Grealish is open to all options this summer, wanting a clean break and permanent new home rather than a loan – which City would sanction, although would prefer to sell.
Manchester City accept they will get nowhere near £100 million, and Grealish would be open to staying in the Premier League, wanting to keep playing at the highest level possible and ideally in the UEFA Champions League. Grealish also would not rule out a move into Europe, while the last resort would be Saudi Arabia.
Manchester United and Liverpool are not interested in Jack Grealish.

According to MailSport’s Jack Gaughan, City are hoping to get a deal done for Ait-Nouri ‘sooner rather than later’ and expect to complete the signing having admired the player for over 12 months.
Wolves have already begun their search for a new left-back in the expectation that Rayan Ait-Nouri will join Manchester City, with the player keen on the move which should be agreed in time for the FIFA Club World Cup, according to The Telegraph’s Jason Burt.
According to Ben Jacobs, Manchester City value Aït-Nouri at around £30 million to £35 million while Wolves want over £40 million. Angers SCO have a 50 per cent sell-on clause on the player, but Wolves can buy this out for a fee in the region of £8.5 million.
