Cheshire Police have issued a statement after concluding their enquiries into an incident involving Kyle Walker earlier this month.

Police confirmed they had launched an investigation earlier this month, after a newspaper alleged that the England and Manchester City defender indecently exposed himself in a bar in the Greater Manchester region.

Following a report in the Sun newspaper, Cheshire Police said that they were “aware of a video circulating on social media” of an alleged incident in Wilmslow. Continuing, it was stated that “enquiries are in the early stages and no arrests have been made at this time”.

At the time, Manchester City and Mr Walker’s agent declined to comment, while the defender continued to train as normal with Pep Guardiola’s first-team squad and compete in fixtures as per standard procedure.

Now, in a statement, Cheshire Police have confirmed that Kyle Walker will not be facing any criminal charges, with a non-statutory order issued to the England international not forming part of a criminal record.

In a statement issued by Cheshire Police, as relayed by The Sun newspaper, it is said, “On Wednesday 8 March, Cheshire Constabulary was made aware of a video circulating on social media in relation to an alleged incident at a bar in the Wilmslow area.

“Officers have now concluded their enquiries which included speaking to those directly involved.

The statement continued, “A 32-year-old man from Prestbury voluntarily attended a police station for questioning on 16 March. He has been dealt with by an out of court disposal and the matter is now closed.”

Kyle Walker can now proceed with the rest of his Manchester City season as initially planned, with the fear of criminal charges no longer looming, and full focus can return to challenging for the titles that remain this campaign.

City take on Burnley in an FA Cup quarter-final on Saturday afternoon, while a Champions League quarter-final double-header against Bayern Munich wedges in between their pursuit of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table next month.
