Manchester City take on RB Leipzig in part two of their Champions League last-16 clash at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night.

The two sides met in the first-leg of the knock-out round contest towards the end of last month, playing out a thrilling 1-1 contest over at the Red Bull Arena in Germany.

Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez thought he had put the travelling side on their way to a routine victory in Saxony through his first-half strike, though the hosts’ second-half fightback saw them dominate proceedings and secure a well-deserved equaliser through Josko Gvardiol.

That draw in Germany was Manchester City’s last game that they failed to win, going on to win four consecutive matches across all competitions since, including an FA Cup fifth round tie against Bristol City to set up a mouthwatering quarter-final against Vincent Kompany’s Burnley.

Ahead of Tuesday night’s crunch Champions League last-16 second-leg showdown in east Manchester, here is all the latest team news and injury updates from both camps!

Manchester City

Pep Guardiola is expected to have a fully-fit first-team squad at his disposal for the visit of RB Leipzig on Tuesday night, after a full compliment of players trained in front of the media at the City Football Academy on Monday afternoon.

The full squad list of players spotted in that training session can be found below:

There had been some concern over the fitness of star central defender and now mainstay left-back Nathan Ake after the Dutchman picked up a heavy knock in the second-half of the 0-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.

However, the 28 year-old trained as expected and as normal with the rest of his Manchester City teammates this week and will be available against RB Leipzig tonight.

RB Leipzig

Things are a little more complex when it comes to the fitness of Marco Rose’s RB Leipzig squad, as the Bundesliga coach has a number of issues to contend with for their visit to the Etihad Stadium.

In a significant boost to his attacking options, Spain international Dani Olmo played a part in their 3-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach last weekend, meaning he will be an option for the match against Manchester City. According to Leipzig’s official website, Olmo will be able to play for 20 to 30 minutes against Pep Guardiola’s men.

Abdou Diallo has been ruled out recently with knee problems, but completed an individual training session away from the RB Leipzig main session ahead of the contest against Manchester City.

In more damning news, Xaver Schlager is certainly ruled out for Tuesday night’s match after undergoing a successful operation in Munich after sustained a syndesmosis ligament injury against Borussia Dortmund.

Christopher Nkunku joins Schlager on the sidelines for this contest too, after the Frenchman suffered a minor thigh strain against Borussia Dortmund.

Peter Gulacsi and Timo Schlieck both continue as long-term absentees for RB Leipzig.
