Manchester City and Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Napoli midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, as per a new report.
Hugo Viana is in the building for the soon-to-be-dethroned Premier League champions and the Portuguese – who will take over from Txiki Begiristain as sporting director in the coming months – will spearhead a squad revamp in the summer transfer window.
Pep Guardiola’s side have struggled in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League this season, still fighting for a place in next season’s edition of the latter by virtue of finishing in the top five places in the former.
Four games remain as City look to maintain their fine run of recent form and end what has largely been a disappointing season on a high by securing Champions League football and go all the way in the FA Cup ahead of Sunday’s semi-final meeting with Nottingham Forest.
Kevin De Bruyne will be leaving Manchester City in the coming months and the 33-year-old has informed Pep Guardiola that he does not wish to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup between June and July to maintain fitness and prevent any possible injury issues.
Bernardo Silva has again been linked with a summer departure from the Etihad Stadium and amidst interest from Benfica, it remains to be seen if the 30-year-old pursues his long-desired move away from City to move closer to his homeland in Portugal.
The future of Matheus Nunes at Manchester City remains a hot topic of debate amongst the fanbase and despite recovering from a mixed bag run of form in the first half of the season with a set of inspiring performance lately, Nunes does not have a future in City’s midfield under Guardiola after the latter’s recent controversial comments.
Mateo Kovacic has enjoyed the best goalscoring season on his career this term and has provided solid cover for Ballon d’Or winner Rodri in the holding midfield position for a large portion of the campaign.
As reported by Italian outlet Areanapoli.it, whose information has been relayed by Get Football News Italy, Manchester City have been offered the chance to sign 29-year-old Cameroonian midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa in the summer.
Zambo Anguissa’s current deal at Napoli expires at the end of the season and the midfielder is believed to be keen on a move in England, with Manchester United also amongst the list of clubs the midfielder’s agents have approached to facilitate a summer transfer.
