Confirmed Line-Ups: Manchester City vs Aston Villa (Premier League)
Manchester City welcome Aston Villa to the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night in a crunch clash for both as they chase UEFA Champions League football for next season.
Pep Guardiola and his players come into the contest full of confidence after a largely firm showing on the road at Goodison Park that required late goals from Nico O’Reilly and Mateo Kovacic to secure a mammoth three points in the race for a top-five finish.
A similarly impressive showing from Aston Villa also followed as, off the back of their Champions League exit to Paris Saint-Germain, Unai Emery’s side put four goals past fellow top-five chasers Newcastle United in a 4-1 win at Villa Park.
It is the first of two matches in the same week for both sides as Manchester City and Aston Villa head to Wembley at the weekend for the FA Cup semi-finals as they take on Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace respectively.
Manchester City welcome the Birmingham club to the Etihad Stadium with a slightly relieved injury situation as Manuel Akanji and Phil Foden returned to duties at the weekend, while Nathan Ake, John Stones, Ederson, and Erling Haaland all remain sidelined.
Ahead of kick-off at the Etihad Stadium, here is how both Pep Guardiola and Unai Emery have lined up their respective Manchester City and Aston Villa sides in Premier League action!
