Match Preview: Crystal Palace vs Manchester City (Premier League)

Manchester City take on Crystal Palace this weekend as they look to keep the Premier League title race with Arsenal to within two matches.
Last time out, City took on top-four contenders Newcastle in a match that would not be as close as their first meeting earlier on in the season, with the reigning Premier League champions coming out on top via a 2-0 scoreline.
Early on in the first-half, rejuvenated Manchester City forward Phil Foden would open the scoring up with a stunning solo goal concluding inside the penalty area, after breaking through five Magpies defenders and giving his team the 1-0 lead.
That lead would not be expanded on until the second-half, when Bernardo Silva picked up a pass in the middle of the box from Erling Haaland, before striking the ball past Nick Pope and nailing the coffin on Newcastle United, while giving City the three points they desperately needed.
On the other side of Saturday’s ticket is Crystal Palace, who come into Saturday evening’s match off the back of a 1-0 loss to Aston Villa in the Midlands. The deciding goal in that contest would come midway through the first-half when the Eagles’ Joachim Andersen cleared the ball into his own net, conceding a costly own goal.
Things would not get any easier for Patrick Vieira’s side after Cheick Doucoure was sent off in the 62nd minute, making him unavailable for the match against Manchester City this weekend.
A win for Pep Guardiola and his players on Saturday evening would put them back to within one game of the Gunners at the top of the table, with only 12 games remaining in the season.

Crystal Palace are scheduled to take on Manchester City on Saturday 11 March with kick-off scheduled for 17:30 BST.
