From Germany: Manchester City battling Bayern Munich for Premier League star as Bundesliga giants approach representatives
Manchester City are in the race to sign Southampton forward Tyler Dibling amid interest from Tottenham and Bayern Munich, as per a new report.
Pep Guardiola is expected to make a series of signings in the summer transfer window as the Premier League champions move on from a disappointing campaign by City’s standards.
Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Ederson and Jack Grealish are some of the high-profile senior players who could leave the club at the end of the season.
City spend £181.5 million in January to sign Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Nico Gonzalez as Guardiola grappled with injuries to key players across the board.
That rebuild will gain momentum when Hugo Viana officially takes over from Txiki Begiristain as sporting director, with Guardiola expected to be heavily backed in the transfer market after signing a two-year deal in November.
Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz, Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso and Atalanta’s Ederson Silva are some of the names recently linked with a summer switch to the Etihad Stadium.
According to the information of Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenburg, Manchester City and Tottenham have registered a concrete interest in Southampton teenager Tyler Dibling.
Dibling, 19, plays primarily on the right wing and has attracted interest from clubs across Europe after a breakthrough albeit relegation-threatened season for Southampton.
Bayern Munich are also understood to be keen to sign the Exeter-born forward but are yet to hold talks with Dibling’s representatives.
