Manchester City forward Jack Grealish has officially announced a new boot deal with Puma, cutting ties with Nike as part of a ‘lucrative’ new ‘long-term’ deal.

Grealish, who signed for Manchester City from Aston Villa in 2021 in a record-breaking £100 million transfer, has become the latest sports star to agree a deal with German manufacturer Puma.

The England international has penned a ‘lucrative’ and ‘long-term’ deal with Puma, ending his affiliation to the US brand Nike, in what has been previously reported as potentially being the biggest boot deal ever for a British player.

Grealish, who’s previous endorsements have included Gucci, Bose headphones and Airwayz, has become one of the world’s most marketable players in recent years.

The 27 year-old became a Premier League champion last season, as Manchester City won their fourth Premier League title of Pep Guardiola’s reign.

City are also bidding to win the title again this year, but currently find themselves five points behind league leaders Arsenal.

Grealish has had an impressive campaign for the Sky Blues, making 26 starts and being directly involved in seven Premier League goals.

The former Aston Villa captain has been pictured wearing black boots in recent weeks, but has now officially joined Puma, alongside fellow footballers such as Neymar and Antoine Griezmann.

Speaking about signing a new long-term boot deal with the major sportswear brand, Grealish said: “For me Puma felt like a perfect fit. They have an amazing history in football and have worked with some of the world’s greatest players.

“I am delighted to join the family and to be a PUMA FUTURE athlete. I am at home on the pitch and want to express myself, which is something I like about the brand, they do things differently and have a great outlook on football.

“Puma are more than just a sports brand; they play a huge role in culture. My focus is always football, but I love fashion and style, so there are many exciting projects we plan to work on together on the pitch and beyond it.”

Upon signing the 27 year-old, Johan Adamsson, Global Director of Sports Marketing and Sports Licensing at Puma said: “We want Jack to be one of the leading faces of the brand in football and culture.

“Jack’s position opens the opportunities to work across many of our fashion-forward initiatives and work together with him on his many personal causes.”
