Gallery: Manchester City continue training preparations for Nottingham Forest clash

Peep Guardiola and his Manchester City players continued their training ground preparations ahead of their upcoming Premier League clash.

The reigning champions – who have endured a difficult campaign across competitions to date – have a very simple task ahead of them for the remainder of the season; qualify for the UEFA Champions league.

That has been the message issued by Pep Guardiola in all of his recent media conferences, insisting upon the importance of staying focussed and striving for victories despite their chances of winning a fifth consecutive league crown having disappeared.

There does however remain a chance of silverware to compliment their pursuit of a top-four finish in the Premier League, with Manchester City continuing to battle on in the FA Cup this season.

Having defeated opposition from League Two, League One, and most recently in the Championship, City have lined themselves up Premier League opposition in the quarter-final stage as they travel to Bournemouth later this month.

However, before then, there are two mammoth Premier League encounters to contend with as City travel to Nottingham Forest this weekend before taking on Brighton & Hove Albion before the international break.
