Manchester City discover FA Cup quarter-final opponents following completed draw
Following victory over Plymouth Argyle on Saturday evening, Manchester City’s next challenge in this season’s FA Cup quarter-final has now been revealed.
This season’s competition began with a home rout against League Two opposition for Pep Guardiola and his players despite a difficult campaign in other competitions, as they cruised past local side Salford City via an 8-0 scoreline at the Etihad Stadium.
A step up the football pyramid then came away from home for the Premier League champions as they came from behind to defeat Leyton Orient in North-East London thanks to goals from Abdukodir Khusanov and Kevin De Bruyne.
And most recently, it was another comeback victory as Championship club Plymouth Argyle succumbed to a Nico O’Reilly headed brace either side of half-time, before De Bruyne got on the act once again in the cup to tap home from close range in the dying embers.
Two mammoth Premier League fixtures now stand in the way of Manchester City and their quarter-final tie either side of the international break, as focus turns to an away trip to Nottingham Forest on Saturday lunchtime.
Now, as Manchester City look to make it to Wembley Stadium once again, it has been confirmed that Pep Guardiola and his players will take on Bournemouth in the quarter-final stage of the competition!

When will the FA Cup quarter-final matches be played?
The 2024/25 FA Cup quarter-final will take place across the weekend of Saturday 29 March 2025, with winning clubs in the quarter-final collecting £450,000 from the competition prize fund.
For Manchester City, that means that their tie would be the first contest after the international break in March, and come before a midweek clash against Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Leicester City in the Premier League on Wednesday 2 April.
