The details of Manchester City’s FA Cup quarter-final tie against Vincent Kompany’s Burnley have now been confirmed.

City confirmed their place in the last eight of the competition courtesy of a dominant 0-3 away win at Ashton Gate this week, courtesy of a brace from Phil Foden and a sensational long distance strike from Kevin De Bruyne.

That win over Nigel Pearson’s Robins follows a third round victory over Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium, and a fourth round win over City’s Premier League title challengers Arsenal, courtesy of a single goal from Nathan Ake at home.

As for Pep Guardiola and his players’ opponents Burnley, they themselves entertained late drama, as a 90th minute strike was enough to overcome the challenge of Scott Brown’s Fleetwood Town at Turf Moor.

The win over Fleetwood followed victories over Bournemouth and Ipswich Town.

Ahead of the clash between the two sides later this month, details surrounding the fixture have now been confirmed.

Manchester City against Burnley has been selected for TV coverage, with the match set to be broadcasted live on BBC One.

City will welcome the Clarets to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday 18th March, with kick-off scheduled for 17:45 UK, with a place in a showpiece Wembley Stadium semi-final up for grabs.

This game will also provide the first meeting between Manchester City and a Vincent Kompany side, after the legendary former club captain ventured into the world of football management – firstly with RSC Anderlecht, and now the Lancashire club.

Manchester City have also provided confirmation that the Premier League clash against West Ham United – which was originally scheduled for the same date – will now move, with details of the rearranged match still yet to be provided.
