Manchester City striker Erling Haaland did not hide away from some of the fun that was poked towards Arsenal and Myles Lewis-Skelly over the course of the weekend.

The Norwegian international is currently recovering from a knee problem sustained during Manchester City’s 4-0 victory over Newcastle United, leading to an absence against Real Madrid and Liverpool in the past fortnight.

However, it is understood that the Manchester City striker has remained active in training sessions and as such has kept a close eye on proceedings elsewhere in the football world across competitions.

Among the results to have seemingly caught his attention was Arsenal’s surprise defeat at home to West Ham United in the Premier League, allowing Liverpool to open up a greater gap over Mikel Arteta’s side in the final weeks of the season.

And in the aftermath of a game that saw Gunners teenager Myles Lewis-Skelly sent off for the denial of a clear goalscoring opportunity, West Ham fans were keen to mock the youngster through the celebration he handed out when scoring against City earlier this month.

Joining in with the fun across social media, Erling Haaland hit ‘like’ on City Xtra’s Instagram post sharing a photo of West Ham fans mocking the celebration issued by Lewis-Skelly during his and Arsenal’s victory over the Premier League champions.

Arsenal fans have been thoroughly enraged by Erling Haaland throughout the course of the campaign, taking personally comments he issued after the 2-2 draw between Manchester City and their club earlier in the campaign.

Following a last-minute equaliser from John Stones at the Etihad Stadium, emotions boiled over at the full-time whistle that saw Haaland tell Gunners boss Mikel Arteta, “Stay Humble, eh” before confronting the likes of Gabriel Jesus in the process.

Haaland and Manchester City have plenty to compete for in the final weeks of the season as they look to finish in the top-four positions in the Premier League table, and face an outstanding chance at winning silverware through the FA Cup.
