Pep Guardiola has added three of his new signings to his UEFA Champions League squad list for the knockout stages of the competition, Manchester City have confirmed.

The deadline for updated List A squads for this season’s UEFA Champions League passed on Thursday night, with all clubs allowed to register a maximum of three new eligible players following the league phase and before the start of the knockout phase.

As for Manchester City, the club submitted a 22-man List A squad before the start of this season’s league stage with rules stating it can be made up of a maximum of 25 players, two of whom must be goalkeepers.

In addition to City’s List A squad, a player can be registered on List B if they are born on, or after, 1 January 2003 and have been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since their 15th birthday by the time he is registered with UEFA – or for a total of three consecutive years with a maximum of one loan period to a club from the same association for a period not longer than one year.

Players aged 16 may be submitted if they have been registered with the club for the previous two years without interruption. The deadline for our List B submissions is 23:00 (UK) on the night preceding each match throughout the competition.

Following changes made to Manchester City’s squad list, it now means that three of the club’s four new signings will be able to play for the club against Real Madrid in the two-legged last-16 play-off tie throughout this month.
