Confirmed Line-Ups: Manchester City vs Club Brugge (UEFA Champions League)
Manchester City welcome Club Brugge to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night on the final matchday of the UEFA Champions League’s reformatted league phase.
City are without a win in their last four matches across the competition, meaning that their fate in this season’s edition of the Champions League hangs in the balance with a threat of elimination very real.
Last time out, City threw away yet another strong lead in European action to lose 4-2 to Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes, in somewhat of a similar performance that has been on show over the last three months in particular.
Manchester City will be hoping to build upon their comeback win over Chelsea on Saturday evening by recording a win over Club Brugge to secure a last-16 play-off place, all building towards a mammoth Premier League trip to Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
As for Wednesday night’s opponents, Club Brugge of Belgium could not be in more different form, as Nicky Hayen’s side come into the meeting at the Etihad Stadium having been unbeaten across their last 20 matches in all competitions.
City will take on Hayen’s outfit without Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake in defence, who join Rodri and Jeremy Doku on the sidelines while they recover from injury problems. Although, there is a chance that Oscar Bobb returns to matchday duties after a five-month lay-off.
Ahead of kick-off at the Etihad Stadium, here is how both Pep Guardiola and Nicky Hayen have lined up their respective Manchester City and Club Brugge sides in UEFA Champions League action!
