Confirmed Line-Ups: Brentford vs Manchester City (Premier League)
Manchester City return to Premier League action with a challenging clash against Brentford on Tuesday night at the Gtech Community Stadium in west London.
Pep Guardiola and his players have seemingly come out of the other side of a two-month slump in form that featured just one win in 13 matches across November and December, recording victories in all of their last three games.
The trip to Brentford this week marks the first of three consecutive away matches for Manchester City, as a visit to Ipswich Town follows on Sunday afternoon, before heading over to Paris on matchday seven of the league phase in the UEFA Champions League against PSG.
While Manchester City managed to cruise through their own FA Cup third round tie with an 8-0 win over Salford City on Saturday night, Brentford endured one of the shocks of the round as Plymouth Argyle won 0-1 in west London to send the Bees crashing down at the first hurdle.
Pep Guardiola’s injury picture is somewhat improving with Oscar Bobb back in first-team training and building up his own match sharpness, and Ederson starting against Salford at the weekend.
Rodri remains sidelined alongside Ruben Dias and John Stones, while Kyle Walker is absent as he continues to find a route through Manchester City’s exit door amid interest from both AC Milan and Inter Milan.
