Manchester City will begin their UEFA Champions League knock-out journey with a clash against RB Leipzig in Saxony tonight.

Wednesday night’s clash between RB Leipzig and Manchester City will be the third meeting between the two clubs, and the third meeting in little over a calendar year following their double-header last season.

The two sides met in the group stage of last season’s UEFA Champions League, with Manchester City coming out on top at home in a 6-3 thriller, with the German club winning on matchday six via a 2-1 scoreline and a Kyle Walker red card.

City will undoubtedly be hoping for a much better night in Leipzig this time around, as they go in search of their first ever Champions League trophy, and the perfect response to a damning 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.

Bernardo Silva’s sublime first-half strike at the City Ground was cancelled out by a late Chris Wood equaliser, leaving Manchester City two points behind title challengers Arsenal – who hold a game in hand on the reigning Champions.

With attentions now firmly fixed on Europe’s premier club competition tonight, and ahead of the much-anticipated kick-off at the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig, here is how Marco Rose and Pep Guardiola line-up their respective teams!
