The Football Association have confirmed the various details ahead of the FA Cup fourth round draw procedure to take place this weekend.

For Manchester City, the back-to-back finalists in the competition welcomed nearby League Two side Salford City to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening, in a mouthwatering tie that featured clubs at either end of the English football pyramid.

Pep Guardiola and his players were keen to further extend their short winning run of form after a torrid set of results across November and December, viewing the FA Cup as a potential chance for silverware in a troublesome season.

City last won this competition en route to their historic Treble success of 2022/23 as they defeated Manchester United at Wembley before travelling to Istanbul to beat Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League final off the back of Premier League success.

Last season’s run to the final ended in defeat however, as goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo secured a cup victory for Erik ten Hag and Manchester United, despite Jeremy Doku’s late effort showing some sign of a resurgence from City.
