That defeat was preceded by a further two losses in the English top-flight at the hands of Bournemouth and Brighton & Hove Albion away from home, with Spurs also defeating City in the Carabao Cup fourth round last month.
In the UEFA Champions League, it was also defeat for City last time out, with Ruben Amorim’s Sporting issuing a heavy 4-1 scoreline on the Premier League champions in Lisbon, in what would be the 39-year-old’s final European match before joining Manchester United.
As for Manchester City’s opponents Feyenoord this week, the Dutch giants find themselves in 21st position in the league phase format of Europe’s premier club competition, with two wins and two draws from their opening four matches.
