Confirmed Line-Ups: Sporting CP vs Manchester City (UEFA Champions League)
Manchester City travel to the Portuguese capital of Lisbon on Tuesday night as they take on Sporting CP on matchday four of the UEFA Champions League.
The Premier League champions are hoping to bring an end to a difficult run of form across competitions, having exited the Carabao Cup at the fourth round stage via a 2-1 defeat to Tottenham, and falling to the same scoreline against Bournemouth in the Premier League.
The visit to Sporting in European action is the third of four consecutive away matches for Pep Guardiola’s side, as they travel to face Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex on Saturday evening in their final challenge before the November international break.
As for Tuesday night’s opponents, their recent form couldn’t have been any better with Sporting CP having not lost in their last 15 matches, having won their last six matches, and also unbeaten in seven home games.
City will be without the same five players that were absent from the weekend, with all of Ruben Dias (muscular), John Stones (foot), Rodri (anterior cruciate ligament), Oscar Bobb (leg fracture), and Jack Grealish (muscular) absent from the travelling party.
Ahead of kick-off at Estádio José Alvalade, here is how both Ruben Amorin and Pep Guardiola have lined up their respective Sporting CP and Manchester City sides in UEFA Champions League action!
