The Premier League have confirmed that Michael Oliver will take charge of Manchester City’s upcoming top-flight meeting with Bournemouth on the south coast.

Pep Guardiola and his players will be wanting to return to winning ways immediately after falling to a 2-1 defeat to Tottenham on Wednesday night and crashing out of the Carabao Cup at the fourth round stage as a result.

Things have been much more positive on a Premier League front with City topping the division by a point and holding a five-point advantage on Arsenal after their unbeaten run since the start of the new season.

However, things have been further complicated this week with the club’s fitness and injury list growing to eight players, with concerns maintained over the likes of Savinho and Josko Gvardiol following the defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Ahead of the meeting between Bournemouth and Manchester City, the Premier League have now announced the list of match officials to oversee proceedings at the Vitality Stadium!

Match Referee

The Premier League have confirmed that the experienced official Michael Oliver has been appointed as match referee for the contest between Bournemouth and Manchester City this weekend.

The 39-year-old will be taking charge of his 10th Premier League match of the season, and his third contest involving Manchester City following the 1-3 win away to West Ham United and the dramatic 2-2 draw between Pep Guardiola’s side and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

Across his nine top-flight fixtures so far, Oliver has issued a total of 44 yellow cards and just one dismissal via a second yellow card. However, he is yet to award a penalty across those matches.

City have a strong record in matches officiated by Oliver, having come across the experienced official in 57 contests across all competitions, winning 42 matches, drawing six and losing nine fixtures, with 81 yellow cards, one second yellow card dismissal, and 11 penalties.

Assistant Referees

Accompanying Michael Oliver on the field on the south coast on Saturday afternoon will be Stuart Burt and Craig Taylor, appointed into the roles of assistant referees by the Premier League.

Video Assistant Referees

Overseeing proceedings from the VAR Hub at Stockley Park, the Premier League have announced that Graham Scott will take on the role of Video Assistant Referee, with Sian Massey-Ellis acting as Assistant Video Assistant Referee.

Fourth Official

Standing between the two dugouts and ensuring all is in line between Andoni Iraola and Pep Guardiola’s benches will be Andrew Kitchen in the role of fourth official at the Vitality Stadium.
