Fabrizio Romano reveals England under-16 captain officially joins Manchester City
Premier League champions Manchester City have continued their recruitment drive for the game’s best youth talents by securing the services of England’s under-16 captain.
The latest signing of youth talent for the Manchester City development system follows an already-hugely productive season to date regarding the promotion of rising talents into Pep Guardiola’s first-team picture.
Firmly securing his place in the first-team squad and recording his first goal for the club by scoring in the UEFA Champions League against Slovan Bratislava is 21-year-old James McAtee, returning after a two-year loan spell at Sheffield United.
Additionally, all of Jacob Wright, Nico O’Reilly, and Kaden Braithwaite are highly-thought of by manager Pep Guardiola, with the latter starting at left-back for the club in the Carabao Cup third round tie against Watford last month.
But the club now have a new name to place at the very forefront of the their focus when it comes to development, having moved swiftly to ensure they win the race for a player holding a senior role with the England youth national team set-up.
As confirmed by transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, England’s under-16 captain, Harrison Miles has now signed his contract to become a new Manchester City player and integrating himself into the club’s Academy system.
Alongside Southampton’s Alejandro Gomes Rodriguez, Miles made his Premier League 2 debut for the Saints earlier this year aged just 15 years-old in a clear reflection of his exceptional potential within the game.
For now it remains to be seen at what level of Manchester City’s youth Academy Harrison Miles will be integrated into, with the club’s Elite Development Squad currently excelling within the Premier League 2 division so far this season.
