Arsenal issue reporters with Manchester City warning following heightened tensions between clubs
Officials at Arsenal were forced to advise against reporters at the Emirates Stadium at the weekend from asking questions related to Manchester City.
It is the latest turn in an ever-developing scenario involving the two Premier League giants, as the fall-out from last weekend’s dramatic 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium continues into a second week.
Comments from both Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta have been put to one another too creating their own headlines during recent press conferences, with the latter claiming to have “information” on Manchester City from his time with the club.
The City head coach has insisted that despite attempts from reporters, his relationship with a close friend, former colleague, and now direct rival for the Premier League title will not be affected.
Such have been the attempts from sections of the media to stir the pot involving the two tactical minds that Arsenal have now taken steps to shut down questioning surrounding the Premier League champions.
According to the information of MailSport’s Mike Keegan, it is revealed that reporters at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday were advised by an Arsenal official not to ask questions about Manchester City in Mikel Arteta’s post-match press conference.
Attentions at Manchester City and Pep Guardiola’s press conferences have now switched to the subject of Rodri and how he will deal with the absence of the Spaniard following an ACL and meniscus injury that will keep him sidelined for months.
Manchester City have now travelled to Bratislava in Slovakia for matchday two of their league phase campaign in the UEFA Champions League, with the 2023 winners of the competition hoping to get their first points on the board.
