Confirmed Line-Ups: Manchester City vs Inter Milan (UEFA Champions League)
Manchester City open up their league phase account in the UEFA Champions League with a home clash against Inter Milan at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.
Pep Guardiola’s side come into the contest in a strong run of form, winning all of their opening four Premier League matches and finding themselves leading the pack in the division by two points coming into a mammoth tie against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
Manchester City will be looking for a strong opening night result against the Italian giants as they and the other clubs in the tournament face unknown territory through the brand new ‘league phase’ format of Europe’s premier club competition.
As for their opponents Inter Milan, they also come into the contest with high praise from Pep Guardiola, having established themselves as the leading side in Italy and on a run of four matches without defeat in the Italian top-flight (W2, D2).
Manchester City have very little injury concerns to report in the lead-up to the contest, with Guardiola only having to deal with the long-term absences of Nathan Ake and Oscar Bobb for the coming run of matches.
