Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City squad have now trained for the final time before embarking on their first contest of the revamped UEFA Champions League.
Inter Milan are Manchester City’s first opponents in an eight-game league phase schedule that will also see Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering side taken on the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus between now and the end of January.
A 36-team league division will see all teams battle it out for the top eight places in the league, automatically qualifying for the knock-out rounds of the competition, whilst those finishing in places 9th to 24th will be entered into a two-legged play-off round.
Manchester City come into their opening Champions League fixture full of confidence, having claimed four wins from their opening four matches, with victories over Chelsea, Ipswich Town, West Ham, and Brentford leaving them top of the Premier League heading into matchday five.
Erling Haaland is the man on everyone’s lips at the moment, with the Norway international having scored nine goals in those four matches, and is now just one strike away from a record-breaking 100th goal in just his 104th Manchester City appearance.
Ahead of their UEFA Champions League opener against Inter Milan this week, here are 10 photos from Pep Guardiola’s final training session with the Manchester City squad before the Etihad Stadium encounter!
