Arsenal legend claims Manchester City winger is better than Bukayo Saka
Manchester City possess one winger that is better than Bukayo Saka, according to new claims from an Arsenal legend speaking this week.
The England international will be hoping to contribute even greater numbers in his season this time around, as Arsenal look to finally overcome the challenge of Manchester City in the Premier League title race at the third time of asking.
For Pep Guardiola and his players, they remain a largely similar squad to the one that did the job last season, adding just two players to their roster over the course of the summer transfer window, whilst also promoting a number of youth talents into the first-team picture.
Savinho was the only player to cost Manchester City financial investment, with the £33.6 million man joining the likes of Jeremy Doku in the attacking line this summer. And it is the Belgian that has been at the centre of exceptional praise from one football icon.
Speaking during a new interview earlier this week, Arsenal and France legend Robert Pires claimed that as a result of several traits, Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku is a better footballer than Emirates Stadium star Bukayo Saka.
“Bukayo (Saka) still lacks a certain level of consistency and experience, especially in the big games,” Pires told Wettbasis during a new conversation this week.
Pires continued, “Perhaps this season, especially in the Champions League, he will show a more convincing face than last season when it counts.
“For example, in my opinion Jeremy Doku from Manchester City is a bit better because he is technically stronger, has better dribbling skills and is more imaginative.”
Doku has added a new dimension to Pep Guardiola’s attack since joining the club from Stade Rennais in the summer market of 2023, arriving at the Etihad Stadium as the club entered into another season off the back of a historic Treble success.
The Belgian international’s unpredictability in attack and lightning quick speed has been showcased on numerous occasions, beating opposition defenders with ease and striking fear into any full-back he faces.
Many believe that Jeremy Doku’s decision making in the final third may be the final improvement to his game before becoming a truly complete winger, and Pep Guardiola will no doubt be striving for perfection when it comes to the youngster.
