Pep Guardiola and Manchester City could yet launch a triple assault on Crystal Palace’s highly-rated squad in the coming transfer windows, according to new information.

Etihad Stadium transfer bosses were largely quiet during the recent summer transfer window when it came to new arrivals into Pep Guardiola’s squad, despite spending in excess of £30 million on one new face.

Savinho became City’s only new player to have seen a transfer fee sanctioned on his services, joining the Premier League champions from fellow City Football Group side ESTAC Troyes in an initial £21 million agreement that could rise to £33.6 million.

Ilkay Gundogan would also make an emotional return to Manchester City towards the end of the window, with many within the club eyeing a midfield recruit throughout the summer market and ultimately landing on the opportunity to bring back their former club captain.

However, City have had numerous names on their transfer wish-list throughout the last few months, and could yet return to one club in particular when looking to strengthen in multiple positions from next summer.

According to the information of Sami Mokbel writing in his MailSport column, Premier League champions Manchester City have ‘already checked on’ how Crystal Palace and England international centre-back Marc Guehi and how the defender’s ‘future may develop’.

Interest from the Etihad Stadium in Selhurst Park talent does not stop there however, with the report going on to reveal that City ‘expressed an interest’ in Eberechi Eze, alongside the likes of local rivals Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Palace are said to have lined up Johan Bakayoko from PSV Eindhoven as Eze’s replacement such was there belief that the midfielder would leave for a Premier League giant. However, no such offers would arrive for the player.

Finally, City have also been tied to interest in Palace’s Adam Wharton – alongside rivals Liverpool – as they continue their hunt for suitable support to Rodri in defensive midfield, but primarily with a view towards a potential move next summer.

The aforementioned former Blackburn Rovers midfielder was at the centre of widespread admiration extending beyond the English game throughout the second-half of last season, and into the summer market.

It is widely believed that the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid showed varying levels of interest in the Englishman, but were quoted a price tag that would have market triple the fee Crystal Palace originally paid for the player in January 2024.

As for Marc Guehi, an indication of his valuation within Selhurst Park has already been provided, with Newcastle United failing in their attempts to sign him as Palace officials stood firm on a £70 million valuation.
