Manuel Akanji starts for Manchester City against Wolves today, while Phil Foden is absent from the matchday squad, according to sources in the run-up to the official line-up reveals.
City will be looking to build on their excellent second-half showing against Tottenham on Thursday night, when goals from Julian Alvarez, Erling Haaland, and a brace from Riyad Mahrez secured a dramatic 4-2 win.

According to one source, Phil Foden is absent from the Manchester City matchday squad to face Wolves this afternoon, with Cole Palmer returning to the group for today’s game.
Additionally, it is further reported that Manuel Akanji retains his place in the City line-up, starting for Pep Guardiola against the Premier League strugglers at the Etihad Stadium.
Elsewhere, it has also been revealed that Joao Cancelo will be among Manchester City’s substitutes this afternoon, while Nathan Ake is also taking a place on the bench, as per Sam Lee.
Pep Guardiola and Julen Lopetegui are expected to name their official Manchester City and Wolves starting line-ups at 13:00 BST.
