Manchester City look to continue the perfect start to the season ahead of the first international break, as they travel to the London Stadium to face West Ham United in the Premier League.

After six goals scored and just one conceded in their opening two games, the reigning champions have made the perfect start to the new campaign, defeating Chelsea and Ipswich Town so far this season.

Julien Lopetegui’s West Ham side stand between the Blues and a perfect start, with the Hammers starting the season with a loss at home and a win away under the new manager.

City’s impressive start has been emphasised further, playing without Rodri in midfield, who has been unavailable through injury, a feat which may remain on Saturday.

After the domestic success so far, Manchester City have also learned their fate in Europe this week, when the UEFA Champions League draw saw them drawn against the likes of PSG and Juventus away from home, while welcoming the side they beat in the 2023 final to the Etihad Stadium, Inter Milan.

Guardiola’s side didn’t make any further additions on Deadline Day, and ahead of Saturday’s clash against West Ham in east London, here is everything you need to know ahead of the fixture in the capital.

Match Details

Manchester City take on West Ham at the London Stadium on Saturday 31 August, with kick-off scheduled for 17:30 BST.

Team News

The hosts will be without Aaron Creswell on Saturday, but otherwise have a fully fit squad at their disposal.

Oscar Bobb remains out for the long term, while Rodri is back in training but is a doubt for this fixture. Phil Foden is out for this one as he is still suffering with illness, Pep Guardiola has confirmed.

Head to Head

City beat West Ham on the final day of the 2023/24 season 3-1 to secure a historic fourth consecutive Premier League trophy back in May.

The Sky Blues have never lost on this ground inside 90 minutes, but have been on the wrong end of a penalty shootout in the Carabao Cup, back in 2021.

Julien Lopetegui has faced Pep Guardiola four times in his managerial career, winning once and losing the other three.
