Manchester City are expected to finalise the signing of a brand new striker to join their Elite Development Squad and first-team training group today.

It is the latest in a long line of actions being undertaken by the Premier League champions to ensure that the club is well-equipped for the future by securing the services of players they believe could become the next best talents within the game.

But it isn’t just the arrival of young talents into the City Football Academy that is being overseen by Manchester City, as the club continues to sanction exits on permanent and temporary deals for their rising names.

The likes of Callum Doyle and Tomas Galvez have both been sent out on temporary agreements away from the Etihad Stadium, with the former heading into the Football League for a fourth successive season.

On the subject of arrivals, City have taken advantage of a rectified contractual dispute at West Ham to ensure that one of the brightest striking talents will be handled by Etihad Stadium officials in the coming seasons.

According to the information of Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, Manchester City are expected to finalise the signing of rising striker talent, Divin Mubama following his exit from West Ham United having rejected a proposal of new terms from the London club.

The report details that Manchester City have also agreed a compensation fee of around £1.5 million with West Ham for the 19-year-old, with the player regarded as a top talent for the future as opposed to a direct replacement for Julian Alvarez.

Staying on the subject of new strikers heading towards the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City remain interested in signing a replacement for the aforementioned Argentina international and have looked towards the Scottish Premier League in their hunt.

Celtic and Japan international forward Kyogo Furuhashi has been deemed as a viable option for the Premier League champions, with the 29-year-old understood to be open to the idea should City believe he is the best-possible solution to their opening in the role.

As for the stance taken by Celtic, any deal involving Manchester City would have to be done for a new club record sale fee, which means Etihad Stadium bosses would have to sanction a sum in excess of £24.7 million.
