Match Preview: Manchester City vs Tottenham Hotspur (Premier League)

Manchester City will look to redeem themselves this week with a win against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, following defeat at Old Trafford last weekend.
City traveled across town to Manchester United for the 189th meeting between the two sides, in a fixture that the Sky Blues have dominated in recent times.
However, it was Erik ten hag’s men who scored two in the closing exchanges of the game to come from behind and win 2-1 on the day, after a headed goal from Jack Grealish had initially set City on their way towards what would have been a crucial win.
In an increasingly challenging January fixture list, Manchester City next come up against Tottenham Hotspur – with Antonio Conte’s men also coming into Thursday’s match off the back of a tough derby defeat at the hands of Arsenal.
Spurs lost to the current runaway Premier League leaders Arsenal via a 0-2 scoreline at home, courtesy of a Hugo Lloris own-goal and a stunning long-range strike from the ever-impressive Martin Odegaard.
City fans will be wary of the threat posed by Tottenham, after a string of difficult results against the London outfit, including the dropping of points in both meetings with Spurs last season.
When?
The match between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur will take place on Thursday 19 January at 20:00 BST.
Where?
Thursday night’s battle will take place at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium.
