New signings remain possible for Manchester City with eight transfer exits confirmed
A busy few days have panned out for Manchester City in the ongoing summer transfer window, with developments across the board for the Premier League champions.
Whilst the ongoing market has been somewhat quiet for Manchester City, manager Pep Guardiola has kept the door open to at least two more arrivals on top of the signing of Savinho earlier this summer.
That would follow five confirmed departures from the Etihad Stadium over the last few days, with more expected to follow in the remaining weeks of the window, largely in the way of temporary moves.
We could also see yet more contract renewals being negotiated by sporting director Txiki Begiristain and his recruitment colleagues within the Etihad Stadium, with one report earmarking a new agreement for a rising first-team star.
Following several further days of the ongoing summer transfer window, and numerous Pep Guardiola press conferences, here is everything you need to know in order to stay up to date with the latest Manchester City transfer news and gossip!
Arrivals
Fabrizio Romano: “Man City will now look at options to replace [Julian] Alvarez, for sure. It could be a striker, but I would not be surprised if they end up considering also wingers and maybe playing with a false nine when Erling Haaland will not be available. Talks are taking place internally to decide on the next move, so we will have to wait and see the outcome of those discussions…” (Daily Briefing)
Rodrygo still feels Manchester City are the “best club in the world”, but has no intention of joining. The newspaper states his two Champions Leagues with Real Madrid are a ‘glory City can’t match’, and isn’t considering joining even if Pep Guardiola personally calls. (AS)

“We will see until the end of the market if we really need a striker to be a back-up for Erling (Haaland). Erling is not going to play all the games with the schedule we have ahead of us, so you have to think about it…” (Press Conference)
Pep Guardiola on signing a back-up to Rodri: “We have (Mateo) Kovacic, Rico Lewis, Nico O’Reilly. John (Stones) and Manu (Akanji) alongside another player can adapt as well. We will see the market. If I have some concern, I will speak with Txiki (Begiristain)…” (Press Conference)

“The media says many things, sometimes inventing a little more. But I’ve already decided my future, especially after the conversation I had with Guardiola. This season I’m totally focussed at City with my teammates in search of more titles… When I said my future wasn’t defined it was because there were offers, but I didn’t…
“The moment I went to America [for pre-season] it was not for dealing with them. That’s why I said it… He expressed what he wants, the decision he wants, asked me to think carefully, the best decision for me/my family, and I decided. I guess this chat was fundamental to my decision to stay…” (ESPN Brasil)
