Contract terms, loan fee, first reactions: Tomas Galvez joins LASK on season-long loan
Manchester City defender Tomas Galvez has completed a season-long loan move to LASK.
The teenager has become the latest City Football Academy star to leave Manchester City for regular first-team opportunities, signing for Austrian top-flight outfit LASK for the 2024/25 campaign.
Galvez, who moved to the Etihad Stadium from Watford, was part of Pep Guardiola’s recent pre-season tour squad of the United States, as Manchester City played friendlies against Celtic, AC Milan, FC Barcelona and Chelsea.
The 19-year-old represents Finland internationally, and made 18 Premier League 2 and seven UEFA Youth League appearances for Manchester City’s EDS last season, registering three direct goal involvements.
The defender also featured in the EFL trophy, and having completed a season-long move to the Austrian Bundesliga, here is everything you need to know about the transfer!
What are the terms of the Tomas Galvez to LASK transfer?
The 19-year-old defender has moved to LASK on a season-long loan deal, with the teenager contracted at the Etihad Stadium until 2028, and not able to complete a future permanent move to the Austrian club as part of the agreement.
How have LASK reacted to the transfer deal?
A statement on the club website, said: “LASK’s seventh new signing in the summer transfer window is a done deal. Full-back Tomas Galvez is joining the Athletics on loan for one year.
“The 19-year-old left-footer is under contract until 2028 with top English club Manchester City, for whom he recently made his professional debut under coach Pep Guardiola.”
Radovan Vujanovic, LASK’s director, said: “Tomas Galvez is a highly talented young player and we are delighted that he has chosen us.
“The fact that he recently made his professional debut at Manchester City shows how much potential he has and how much the club thinks of him. With his technical qualities and game intelligence, he can definitely help us.”
We wish Tomas Galvez all the very best on his season-long loan move to LASK for the forthcoming campaign!
