Journalist reveals seven-figure annual sum behind latest Manchester City sponsorship deal
Manchester City are reportedly set to pocket an estimated seven-figure amount from a new sponsorship agreement with Betway.
The Sky Blues announced their latest partnership last month, as Manchester City continue to enjoy major commercial success globally, something highlighted during the club’s recent pre-season tour of the United States.
Manchester City players took part in a number of major events across the US during the four-match tour, most notably in New York and Orlando, ahead of friendly fixtures against both AC Milan and FC Barcelona.
Betway announced a multi-year deal with Manchester City ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, becoming the official global betting partner of the Premier League champions, following Guardiola’s side’s latest title triumph at the Etihad Stadium in May.
The betting group are also the front-of-shirt sponsors of fellow Premier League side West Ham, with the partnership with Manchester City set to see the Betway logo feature digitally and inside the Etihad Stadium.
Lukasz Baczek reports that the multi-year partnership between Manchester City and the global betting firm will earn the Sky Blues over £4 million annually, with Betway becoming the club’s sole betting sponsor ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
Betway’s deal with Manchester City has also reportedly led to the club making a series of major changes, including ending a number of regional partnerships with other gambling operators.
Speaking about the partnership last month, City Football Group CEO Ferran Soriano, said: “We are pleased to announce Betway as our Official Global Betting Partner today.
“As a globally recognised brand, Betway has a strong pedigree and history of working with high-profile brands within the sports space and we’re excited to work together throughout the partnership.”
