Manchester City have held an interest in the profile of one Premier League forward throughout the ongoing summer transfer window, a new report has revealed.

The latest conversation surrounding potential arrivals into Pep Guardiola’s squad comes as the club moves ever closer towards finalising a major outgoing, with Julian Alvarez set for a move to the Spanish capital and Atletico Madrid.

The word from sources within the Etihad Stadium is that Manchester City and Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement over a €95 million package for the 24-year-old Argentina international, comprising of an initial €75 million with a further €20 million in add-ons.

With only contractual details and personal terms to be agreed upon between the player, his representatives, and the La Liga club, Manchester City can now start plotting for life without La Arana, and potentially recruiting further this summer.

As such, that has taken the Premier League champions towards a fellow English top-flight club, and a name that has long been linked with admiration throughout some of Europe’s leading football clubs.

According to the information of The Telegraph’s James Ducker, the versatile Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Pedro Neto is one of the players to have interested Manchester City throughout this summer.

Neto is known to be close to a number of Manchester City’s Portuguese players, and particularly Ruben Dias, with the pair spotted on holiday together earlier this summer following their involvements at the European Championships.

However, any deal for the 24-year-old will certainly not come cheap, despite the strong negotiating relationship between Manchester City and Wolves, with the understanding being that Neto could command a transfer fee of around £60 million.

Furthermore, any steps taken by Manchester City officials to sign the player will likely be met with competition from other clubs, with Premier League rivals Newcastle United and Arsenal also thought to be holding an admiration for the winger.
